What you will do as Airport Digitization Consultant

The use of data and digital services is an integral part of meeting the needs of our aviation clients.
Airports are complex ecosystems where every single aspect of daily operations is supported by data provided by multiple operating systems; often owned and managed by different stakeholders. Supporting and steering Aviation clients to harvest, integrate and improve operations, optimise system performance, and predict future scenarios is a key focus of our future business. This approach will ensure airports can increase efficiency, delay costly capital expansions, lower operating costs, and ultimately become more competitive within global markets.

As Airport Digitization Consultant you will be familiar with airports and digital airport trends. You will be assisting the Airport Digitization Team and will be working alongside our Airport Digitalization Lead to help our worldwide aviation clients understand how they can effectively use existing and upcoming airport related digital technologies, digitalization, services, products, and data, to better operate a wide range of new and existing Terminal, Airside and Landside airport assets and operations through:

Client outreach, engaging with new and established international clients:

• By preparing and delivering materials for proposals, identifying marketing initiatives, and exposing and/or selling our services through preparing presentations.
• You will also work with together with the business development team and tender desk on client outreach.

Digital strategy knowledge:

• You work as part of the Future Aviation Team to help define digital strategies for NACO and their Clients on the following topics: vision for innovation, the range of existing and upcoming technologies, tangible targets, business models, feasible roadmaps and partnerships.
• You understand, have a clear view of and can translate Client requirements into future digital solutions. You will have a solid awareness of the existing and expected airport digitization market demands.
• You will have an independent willingness to think, act and present ideas and solutions to our internal business partners and our clients, often translating complicated theories and solutions into tangible and simple concepts.

Projects:

• You work on (individual) projects directly for our clients, or you support projects through:
  
  • Strategic digital implementations: making sure we meet the client’s expectations.
  • Liaising internally between multi-disciplinary teams across the organization regarding digital airport strategy.
  • Identifying complementary methods to support our clients, like partnering with technology vendors.
  • Providing input to project managers to support on their individual projects.

Where you will work

As a Airport Digitization Consultant you will become part of the Business Unit Aviation. This is one of the smaller and more intimate units and consists of our worldwide renown consultancy brand NACO. A world-leading airport consultancy and engineering firm with over 70 years’ experience working in the aviation and air transport industry – from major landmark designs to smaller regional airports.

Our highly motivated team works closely together with InterVISTAS, former part of Royal HaskoningDHV, to deliver full spectrum, integrated engineering-, strategic- and management consultancy services related to airport and aviation development all over the globe. We run our aviation business from our “head office” in The Hague, in The Netherlands supported by our offices in Canada, United States and South Africa.

What you bring

Working in multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams spread across different countries is no problem for you. Besides the ability to work in a team environment, you also work effectively when working individually.

You have excellent presentation and communication skills and are results driven. You have previous experience in stakeholder management, through client and stakeholder workshops for example. To do this you have excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to organize written work in a manner that is clear, easy to follow and tailored for the intended audience, in near nativity English. Besides that, you bring:

• 5-10 years’ work experience in digital transformation, business organization consultancy, preferably in aviation.
• Knowledge of IT architecture & Data science required.
• Experience with existing and upcoming aviation-related technology applications, to improve efficiency and performance of aviation processes, is highly valued (e.g., digital twin applications, airport operating data bases, airport IT systems/architecture, (biometric) passenger processing systems, A-CDM/TAM).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
• Can multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant Master’s level university degree.
• You have an inquisitive nature, you are eager to learn new topics in the digitization of airports and are willing to stay up to date.
