As our global mobility expert, you do not only contribute directly to our company mission, but you are also involved in the shift to our new way of working: hybrid and remote. What will you do as a Senior Global Mobility Expert?

The Global Mobility team is involved in cross-border employment and assignments within the organization and acts as the first point of contact for employees, managers, HR and Finance colleagues. Next to that, we are responsible for ensuring that all related policies and programs are aligned with the company’s long-term strategy and our processes are fit for the future.  

You are considered a senior subject matter expert and will support managers as well as the individual employees with their assignment and cross-border working related requests. As senior member of the team, you drive the Global Mobility roadmap. You actively connect with stakeholders to create awareness around implications of working abroad and at the same time, you listen to the business need and collaborate to find the best way forward. More specific, you will:  

  • Advise the business on the consequences of international staffing from an international tax, social security and immigration perspective  
  • Advise the business on more permanent cross-border employment requests. For countries where we have no (HR) presence, you also advise on contractual terms compliant with local legislation (in close alignment with the Rewards team) 
  • Take a leading role in developing the roadmap for Global Mobility and driving projects, in close alignment with stakeholders in HR and the business. Example of a project on the Global Mobility agenda for 2024 is the review of our Short-Term Assignment policy and related processes 
  • Contribute to the day to day activities of the Global Mobility team. This includes the coordination and execution of all requirements relating to working abroad, including (but not limited to) assignment set up, visa and work permit applications, application for specific tax rulings and adherence to the Posted Worker Directive  
  • Drive continuous development and professionalization of our Global Mobility processes and policy

The Global Mobility Team is a Centre of Expertise within the HR department of Royal HaskoningDHV, responsible for providingspecialised knowledge and acting as an advisor to the company. The team works in close cooperation with other HR colleagues. The team is part of the Global Total Rewards Centre and is partly based in Amersfoort and partly based in Rotterdam, but we do have a working from home policy in place aimed at optimizing work-life balance and co-creation within the team. You will work together with 2 Global Mobility experts to bring Global Mobility within RHDHV to the next level. 

What you bring

  • A bachelor or master's degree (in tax, economics, labor law or something else relevant) and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an inhouse Global Mobility role. 
  • You have a good understanding of international tax and social security agreements.  
  • You have a basic understanding of Compensation & Benefits, labor law and contracting.  
  • You are able to align with different stakeholders (at different levels), collect information and come to a solid recommendation (and communicate this in a clear and understandable manner). 
  • You are eager to contribute to professionalization of our service delivery and process optimalization. 
  • You are able to work in a quickly developing international environment with demanding, internal clients at all levels and with various cultural backgrounds. 
  • You are fluent in English, both verbal and written.
