What you will do as Resident Engineer

Position: Resident Engineer for the Salt Tailings Project

Project Overview: Royal HaskoningDHV has been invited by the Arab Potash Company (APC) to design the Salt Tailings Project, to support the tender process, and will now oversee the site supervision of this significant initiative. The works consist of the construction of two km2 of geomembrane to stop the loss of valuable brine from the salt tailings, the construction of interceptors drains and the construction of a pipeline to return the intercepted brine to the solar ponds. The project is expected to span 12 months.

Location: Dead Sea Area, Jordan

Duration: Expected project duration (1 year). We do need resident engineer for more projects, so the option exists to continue the work on site if agreed by all parties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a dedicated site supervision team comprising experienced local inspectors.
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination among project stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues that arise promptly.

Working Hours: Six days per week (Friday off), with compensation aligned with the workload.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience with FIDIC contracts (prior experience with FDIC Red Book 1999 version will be highly appreciated).
  • Over 10 years of relevant working experience in similar projects.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Start date: 1 June 2025

We offer:

  • a contract to be involved as an independent consultant.
  • a competitive salary of approximately 11,000 EUR per month, based on a 6-day working week and 8 weeks paid leave per year.
  • work permit and resident permit will be arranged by RHDHV.
